In 1950-51 Hayek presented a seminar at the University of Chicago entitled "Justice and Equality." The seminar was opened to faculty and students and it was Hayek's
. . . hope that the seminar can be conducted with the participation of members of all the various departments concerned, particularly a number of lawyers, economists, and philosophers, and that the discussion will be to some extent a [d]iscussion among faculty members in front of the students, though of course without excluding the students from active participation.
